It’s time for another concoction!
Today we have “The Floral Arrangement.” I made that name up on the spot, as I wanted to work with things based on flowers, so here we go:
Spritz a glass with Rose Water (I chose a rocks glass), and let it sit while you prepare the rest.
In a shaker, combine
1.5 oz. Basil-infused Vodka
1 oz. Creme de Violette
1 oz. Elderflower liqueur
Shake ingredients and strain over ice in your rose-infused glass.
Garnish with lemon zest and a mint sprig, and enjoy!
I found this very refreshing, and all of the flowers/plants really helped each other. I actually went back and added 2 dashs of lemon bitters, to increase the acidity, and create a different flavor profile. The body was still there, but that added crispness made it phenomenal!
I have a Thai Basil plant, so mine uses Thai Basil.
In a quart jar, combine 8-10 sprigs of Basil (depending on leaf size)
cover with your choice of regular vodka (I used Skyy)
Let it sit for 3-7 days, tasting it along the way until you reach the Basil flavor you are looking for.
Remove the solids, and enjoy!
See you next time. =]
