To make up for missing a few posts, we’re going to spam a few drinks this week. Hope no one minds.
If you enjoy Whiskey Sours, Amaretto Sours, and the like, then this should be right up your alley.
The Elderflower Sour has a surprising amount of complexity. You get all the great botanical notes from the Gin, and the Elderflower just tunes it up enough to make it a great drink to have multiples of, in my opinion. The sourness is not overbearing, and again it has the drinkability of its Sour cousins. Not as sweet as a Midori Sour, but still something that drinkers with “delicate palates” can get behind.
1.5 oz. Gin (The botanical mix from Beefeater and Aviation turned out great)
0.75 oz. Elderflower Liqueur
0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
Build in rocks glass over ice.
Optional Garnishes: Lemon Twist or an actual Elderflower
If you’re going to drink them at home, the garnish is not as important. =p

Review: I pretty much said all the things that I think about it above, but as always, feel free to tweak the amount of Elderflower liqueur and lemon to suit your actual taste preferences. I like to pour the whole thing in a shot glass (with no ice, obviously) and get silly. It really is refreshing, and great for sitting around sipping.
