We did a video on how to make this, and posted it to our Facebook page.
It is a pretty ambitious cocktail, but the reward is well worth it. I highly recommend that you have 2-3, to really grasp the entire flavor profile. =p
The Orange Harvest
1.5 oz. Gin
1 oz. Aperol
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
0.25 oz. Triple Sec
0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
dsh orange bitters
Stir all ingredients over ice
Strain into chilled Coupe glass
Orange Twist and Orange Blossom Water to garnish
Review: I find the orange flavors to be perfectly balanced with the bitterness. I did want the bitterness to be a focal point, but not overbearing in a way that you can’t enjoy the rest of the flavors playing off of it. I have made several since this one, and it’s good every time. Feel free to test different amaros like Braulio, Campari, and Averna to find the exact one that you really enjoy. The bitterness is a star element, so make sure you keep it dialed up within reason.
Enjoy! See ya next time.
