We call this the I-5. It has nothing to do with interstate 5, but it does have 7 dots of Peychaud’s Bitters. 2 dots is the letter I, and 5 dots is the number 5. So, we figured why not?

1 oz. Laphroaig 10 yr.
0.75 oz. Ginger Liqueur
0.75 oz. Pineapple Juice
0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
1 barspoon Fernet-Branca

Shake ingredients
Strain into Coupe Glass
Garnish with 7 dots of Peychaud’s Bitters

Review: The Laphroaig added a nice amount of smoke. The Lemon and the Pineapple made it seem like you had smoked fruit and juiced them into the cocktail, which was really nice. That barspoon of Fernet added a perfect amount of contrast to the existing flavors. Honestly, Alicia is our resident Scotch drinker, and she killed the whole thing in 2 drinks. Said it was “Really good.” She might be biased, because she loves Laphroaig, but we all tasted it before she drank it, and found that it appealed to all of our palates.
If you like scotch, and you’re looking for something new, give this a go.

If you make one, or drink one, please feel free to let us know what you think in the comments, or back over on Facebook.

Enjoy! See ya next time.
