Spring has Sprung

This cocktail was inspired by something I was reading about on my search for great things to make with Averna. We swapped some shit around, and I think this was probably my favorite thing from the photo shoot it was taken during.
Go figure, Turner likes something with Averna in it. WEIRD!

Spring has Sprung
2 oz. Gin (We used Beefeater)
1 bsp Yellow Chartruese
1 oz. Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
0.5 oz. Averna

Strain into chilled Coupe
Garnish with lemon wheel and Star Anise

Notes: This drink had everything I personally love. You get that big hit of botanicals off the Beefeater, and it fades into that tangy grapefruit/lemon mix, and finally leaves just enough bitterness to be palatable from the Chartreuse and Averna. Perhaps if we make a future iteration, we might throw in a dash of something sweet and cut just a touch of the grapefruit juice.
