Gin Campari Sour

The Gin Campari Sour has been around for quite some time. It’s a rather popular Valentine’s drink, due to its color.
However, color doesn’t mean your significant other is going to like it. The ingredients might not be in your, or their, wheelhouse so to speak. Maybe make one and try to tweak your ratios to your liking. It’s simple enough.

Here’s how we made it:

Gin Campari Sour 
1.5 oz. Gin
0.75 oz. Campari
0.75 oz. Lemon
0.5 oz. Simple Syrup
1.5 oz. Egg white (or the whites of one normal egg)

Dry shake all ingredients for 20-30 seconds
Add ice and shake some more
Strain into a chilled coupe
Garnish with a lemon wheel

Notes: This cocktail comes across very “lemon-forward,” and then tends into the botanical notes from your choice of gin. The egg whites give it a nice silky mouthfeel, so it is still pleasant in contrast with the dryness of the Campari. If you are not a gin drinker, or if you do not like the bitterness, make sure you tone up your simple a little.
