Who doesn’t love a good ol’ Negroni?
Who doesn’t love chocolate?
Let’s see if we can get those two groups to hang out. Introducing, the Chocolate Negroni.
I was going to grate some chocolate over this, but I decided not to, because sometimes at the end of photo shoots, I just don’t want to walk into the kitchen to find the chocolate squares.
Here’s how we made it:
1.25 oz. Gin
0.75 oz. Campari
0.75 oz. Sweet Vermouth
0.25 oz. Creme de Cacao
3 dsh Chocolate Bitters
Strain over 1 large cube
Ideally, zest chocolate over top of it.
Notes: It really did have a great chocolate taste. The girlfriend loved it, and she usually isn’t the biggest fan of the Negroni, or any rendition of said cocktail. The campari played very nicely with the sweetness of the creme de cacao and bitters, which made for an extremely-well rounded Gin drink that had a bunch of unexpected flavor.
Definitely worth making.
