Elderflower Spice-clops

I thought the lime wheel looked kind of like an eyeball, so I sat it on the ice, rather than the rim. Combined with the shape of the glass, I think it turned out looking pretty cool.
I do not regret my decision.

This little baby has a few things in it. Please refer to the Spicy Gimlet for the spicy simple recipe used in this cocktail.

Without further ado, allow me to introduce *drumroll* —

Elderflower Spice-clops
1.5 oz. Silver Tequila
0.75 oz. Elderflower Liqueur
0.5 oz. Sweet Vermouth
0.5 oz. Lime Juice
0.5 oz. Jalapeno Chile Simple Syrup
3 dsh Smoke Bitters

Stir all over ice
Strain into rocks glass over ice
Garnish with a lime wheel (so it looks like an eye)

Notes: The Tequila + Smoke bitters was an attempt to replicate Mezcal, as at the time of writing this, I have run out. It was an okay attempt, but it was by no means the same. I still really enjoyed the drink, since I am a tequila drinker. It has a nice balance of other flavors. I think if I made it again, I might cut out the Vermouth, and tone down the lime juice. I really liked the Tequila + Elderflower + Spice combination, and after I had finished it, I wished those things had been for of the focal point. Good thing I made a second one!! =p
