Bloody Handprint

If you understand all of the references I just made, then you will more than likely enjoy this drink a whole lot. =]

This cocktail had a lot going on for being made of such few ingredients. I have been waiting for just the right time to use this garnish, and the stars seemed to have aligned, and I finally got to put it on something worthy of such a display!

Chiggity check this out —

Bloody Handprint
1.5 oz. Gosling’s Black Seal Rum
2 T of Honey simple
juice half a lime (save the shell)
2 t Egg Whites

Give it all a dry shake
Throw some ice in it
Shake it again
Strain it into your choice of fancy glass
Float the lime shell
Fill with 151 rum and catch it on fire — PLEASE BE CAREFUL
Using a barspoon, submerge the garnish to put it out (and add 151 to your end product)

Notes: I was so excited. We were making drinks, and I got to this one. I wanted to use lime juice, but I literally just poured it into some other things, and I was like, “Well I will just use half a lime,” and it dawned on me that since there was rum in this, I could finally use the garnish! Anyway, it turned out beautifully. The honey and the lime give just enough flavor to the rum, but the rums are the point of the drink, so don’t overdo them. There’s just enough egg whites to give it a small amount of froth, and lets you get a touch of silky mouthfeel in there. Overall, I was pleased with all the things!!

Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.

Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
