Welcome back to “Regular cocktail posts,” by Turner Bartending!! lol
Today we have a visually stunning cocktail that I designed for a client who did not quite have their timeline planned out.
They have been sitting on a shelf, so to speak, and now it is time to post them for my own use.
This is the Miami Vice. You can google it. It is a popular “summer time” thing. It is a piña colada mixed with a strawberry daiquiri. This drink was sort of out of my wheelhouse, as I do not typically make frozen drinks, and when it is on the rocks, it doesn’t quite layer like I wanted it to. After some research, I finally decided to split it vertically for the picture, but for the most part, it would be split horizontally, as the vertical split took 3 hands — if you know how to do it consistently with 2 hands, I would love to hear it.
Here’s how it went down —
1.5 oz. Pineapple-infused Spiced Rum
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Organic Coconut Cream
Blend the ingredients in a blender with ice, and store in a shaker (or other container)
1.5 oz. Strawberry-infused Light Rum
0.5 oz. Lime Juice
0.5 oz. Simple Syrup
1.5 oz. Strawberry Simple Syrup (or to taste)
Blend all that together with ice
Rim your glass in strawberry-flavored sugar
Put a knife in the middle of the glass
Pour the two containers on either side of the knife
Garnish with a strawberry and a rum-infused pineapple!
Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.
Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
