Hey, everyone! Turner Bartending here with another cocktail that I had planned to execute as part of a seasonal menu for a client. You can tell which of these belong in that category, due to the snazzy background.
If you like margaritas, but you think you drink “too many,” and you are in the mood to change it up, just go buy a bottle of mezcal and swap it for the tequila!
Not too much to talk about, so let’s jump right into it.
Smoked Strawberry Margarita
1.5 oz Mezcal (I used La Luna Cupreata)
1 oz. Triple Sec
1.5 oz. Strawberry Simple Syrup
Shake ingredients over ice
Rim margarita glass with strawberry-flavored sugar
Put ice in glass
Strain shaker into glass
Garnish with additional strawberry
Notes: I tend not to put sour mix in my strawberry margaritas. The simple syrup I use is sweet enough to not warrant adding any extra simple. The overall strawberry flavor is very light and subtle, so I usually step it up to 1.5 oz., personally. If you make this, and you use our strawberry simple recipe, you might need 2 ounces for your own taste. If you use some store-bought strawberry flavor, you will more than likely just need 1 ounce.
Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.
Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
