I love puns!
This drink is called the Fe Fi Fo Yum. I made it on stream, once. It is the perfect amount of spicy for the summer time. As you all know, spicy food helps regulate your temperature, so a spicy cocktail should do the same thing!
Here’s how it went down —
Fe Fi Fo Yum
0.75 oz. Jalapeño-infused silver Tequila
0.75 oz. Reposado Tequila
0.25 oz. Ginger Liqueur
0.5 oz. Bell Pepper Simple
0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
Shake all ingredients over ice
Strain into rocks glass of crushed ice
Garnish with 2-3 dashes of chocolate bitters and a lime twist
Notes: I would really like to give this a go with some Ancho Reyes, but I could not find any. I will include the jalapeno tequila and the bell pepper simple below. The chocolate bitters at the end is pretty crucial. This drink has the potential to be like spicy food, where it is so spicy you can’t really taste anything else, so try to be careful if you tweak the quantities.
750 mL of silver tequila
2 fresh jalapeños
Slice the jalapeños sorta thin
Place them in a jar and pour tequila in with them
Let sit for 4-24 hours, and taste ever so often
The longer it sits, the spicier it is
Strain off solids, and enjoy your spicy tequila!
Bell Pepper Simple
1 red bell pepper
half of a jalapeño
1 cup water
.5 cup sugar (or brown sugar)
Slice up pepper
Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a rolling boil
Reduce heat, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes
Strain off solids and enjoy!
