There’s that song called Mambo #5, so sometimes I just make drinks with themes and I keep messing with them until we get it right. This one was a home run, and it only took about 3 prior iterations.
It looks great, has that nice rosy color, and we put a rose petal on top with an orange peel rolled into a rose! So many roses.
Here’s what it wound up turning into —
Rose Water #4
1.5 oz. Ginger-Infused Vodka
0.33 oz. Campari
0.75 oz. Lime Juice
1/8 tsp Rose Water
Stir all ingredients over ice
Spritz a goblet with a light coating of rose water
Fill goblet with crushed ice
Strain ingredients into goblet
Top with Ginger Beer
Garnish with a rose petal and orange peel
Notes: The Campari was one of the hardest things to get right. We wanted it to not be overbearing, and bitter, but we also needed it in a large enough quantity to turn pink with the amount of ginger beer. Over all, it was a very fun thing to get correct. We finally decided to use Ginger Vodka as the base spirit, because of the use of the ginger beer, and also because we had previously used it, and wanted the client to be able to utilize an infusion for more than one drink.
