The Aviator

I believe I have made an Aviation on stream before. Not exactly sure which stream, but I feel pretty strongly that I have done it. This drink is similar to and Aviation, so I named it The Aviator. If you like one, you should like the other.

Let’s get right into it, shall we?
Here’s how it went down —

The Aviator
1.5 oz. Aviation Gin
0.5 oz. Creme de Violette
1 bsp Green Chartreuse
2 dsh orange bitters

Stir all ingredients over ice
Strain over 1 large ice cube
Garnish with wide lemon twist

Notes: The Aviator hits all the right buttons. It’s light, floral, and complex. The creme de violette and the chartreuse really tie all the botanical notes of the gin up in a really nice bundle and deliver it straight to your taste buds. Again, it is similar to the Aviation, which gives it the classic feel. Crisp, refreshing, and a good use of time to sit and sip while cooking dinner or something. =]

Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.

Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
