Father’s Day Meal pt 1

It’s Father’s Day 2020!

I thought it would be nice to post 3 drinks all at once, that YOU could theoretically make for that special dad in your life. Or, if you are a dad, make them for yourself!

The appetizer —

This is a nice apertif that will really get your old man thinking about doing some serious drinking.

Here’s what ya do …

Go In Peas
1.5 oz. Basil Vodka
0.5 oz. Ginger Liqueur
0.5 oz. Lime Juice
0.75 oz. Simple Syrup
4 sugar snap peas (whole pod)
8 tarragon leaves

Muddle the peas, leaves, and simple
Add ice, and everything else
Strain into coupe and garnish with more peas! (I floated mine, but in hindsight a skewer would have been nice, so you could kind of stir with it and then take a bite.)

Notes: This has a nice, light aspect. I was originally thinking about a soup when I made it.
Sidenote: I am also currently working on a cocktail based on Tom Yum soup.
Anyway, the basil vodka really ties the Earthy tones that the Tarragon and peas bring to the party together. It doesn’t taste boozy, so you could ideally have more than one while preparing the next course! =]

Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.

Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
