Father’s Day Meal pt. 3

It’s Father’s Day 2020!

I thought it would be nice to post 3 drinks all at once, that YOU could theoretically make for that special dad in your life. Or, if you are a dad, make them for yourself!

We’re coming up on dessert, and it is a real treat.

Here’s how it went down —

Feelin’ Myself
1.5 oz. Flor de Cana 12 yr. Aged Rum
0.5 oz. Elderflower Liqueur
0.25 oz. Creme de Violette
1 oz. Lemon Juice
0.5 oz. Lavender Simple Syrup*
1.5 oz. Egg Whites

*simple recipe at bottom
Add all to shaker
Dry shake
Shake over ice
Strain into chilled coupe
Garnish with lavender pods

Notes: The aged rum goes well with the silky smoothness of the egg whites. Elderflower, Creme de Violette, and the Lavender Simple help to make it bright and floral without taking away from the deep bass of the Flor de Cana. It is creamy, and it reminds me of a pie. I hope you, and or your dad, are full after these three courses!!

Lavender Simple —
6 oz. Honey
1 cup water
2 Tbsp lavender pods

Bring all to a boil to dissolve the sugar, and then let cool to room temperature before using. Bottle, label, and refrigerate for ~2 weeks.

Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about this cocktail, or if you make one, please share your experience here or on Facebook.

Enjoy! See ya next time! =]
