Dopo cena means “after dinner” in Italian.
Here’s how we made it —
1.5 oz Leblon Cachaca
.5 oz Averna
.5 oz Cynar
.5 oz Benedictine
.5 oz Lime
Pour Over Ice (branded or non)
Top with lemon zest and a seasonal wildflower
This is an experiment with botanicals and bitterness. We used Cachaca as the base spirit, so it would have a slight sweetness. We threw in Averna, because I LOVE Averna when it comes to amari, as it also has a hidden sweetness. Cynar rounds it out in the bitterness category, lifting the notes from the other two. Shake it all up with a little citrus and some Benedictine for depth, and this cocktail is sure to be the perfect night cap!
We branded our ice with our initials (Turner Bartending) for a personal touch. Topped with lemon zest and a wildflower for extra beauty, because you’re worth it!
